Abundance
Romans 15:13 (NIV)
‘May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.’
Trusting in Jesus. Easier said than done sometimes… right?
It is from breathing, resting, clinging to hope and allowing the Joy of the Lord to fill me from the inside out, that I come back to the place of complete and utter trust in my Saviour.
It is from this place that I feel the deep, immeasurable peace that can only come from God. It is here that I ask him again to fill me with his Holy Spirit, that I may step into the fullness of life for which he has created me. To walk in his abundant blessing. To live freely. To walk in the words of Isaiah 40:31 ‘those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’
I find myself drinking in every verse I can that speaks of the richness of life that God so desires for me… ‘I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of’ (John 10:10).
There is a theme here!! God wants good things for me. He wants me to run and not grow weary. He wants me to dream and share with him the deepest desires of my heart. And that fire, that can sometimes feel like it’s been extinguished, starts to ignite and burn, and I feel passion and excitement rise up and spill over. My heart bursts with gratitude and I want to share it… from the overflow, I want to let others know that there is someone who loves them immeasurably and unconditionally, who sees them, and knows them and STILL wants deep relationship with them. It’s unfathomable, but it’s true. And it’s for everyone. Even me. Even you.
Prayer – Lord, fill me to overflowing with your Spirit. Ignite the flame within me and help me to burn brightly for you. Wherever I am, whatever I’m doing, may I rest in your love and may you use me for your glory. In all I seek to do, may I honour you. In Jesus’ name.
