Governance

Gas Street is one church across four locations.

Three locations (Central, St Luke’s & South) are governed by St Luke's Edgbaston PCC.

Our fourth location, Gas Street Longbridge, is governed by St John’s Longbridge PCC; which is an independent PCC fulfilling all its usual core functions. There is also a service level agreement in place until November 2026 to delegate the operational running to the St Luke’s PCC.

To ensure shared oversight over all locations, representatives from Gas Street Longbridge also sit on the St Luke’s PCC; there is a joint standing committee; and one joint meeting of both PCC’s per year.

The PCC’s consist of the Clergy team, 2 Churchwardens in each parish, Elected Members and Deanery Synod representatives. You can see the PCC members on the Our Team page.

The PCC’s can delegate to the Joint Standing Committee whom meet more reguarly. This group consists of:

  • Senior Pastor (Vicar) — Tim Hughes

  • Associate Senior Pastor — Nick Drake

  • Churchwardens of St Luke’s — Kookie Mudere & Jonny Pearson

  • Churchwarden of St John’s — Will McKemey

  • St Luke’s Treasurer — Frank Harper

  • St Luke’s PCC Secretary — Hannah Miller

  • Also in attendance is James Brumwell (Head of Operations)

The PCC’s & Standing Committee work to enable and ensure the Gas Street Exec & Staff Teams are operating effectively and legally.

Electoral Roll

The PCC members and Churchwardens are elected at our Annual Parochial Church Council meetings, which all members of the respective Electoral Roll’s are invited to attend. You can see the current PCC members on the Our Team page.

To join the church electoral roll, you need to be baptised; and either living within either St Luke’s or St John’s Parish, or have regularly attended worship at Gas Street Church for six months or more.
