New Every Morning

This week's devotionals are based on quotations from broadcast messages of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, as we give thanks for her long life of faith, duty and service.

 Lamentations 2:22-23 —

'Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail, they are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.'

 “For Christians, as for all people of faith, reflection, meditation and prayer help us to renew ourselves in God’s love, as we strive daily to become better people. The Christmas message shows us that this love is for everyone. There is no one beyond its reach.” —The Queen 2013

 One of the wonderful things about God's love for us is that it is refreshed every single morning of our lives. The Psalmist reminds us (Psalm 139:5) that God is behind us, in our past, and before us, in our future - but you and I can only meet him in our present - NOW. At this moment, as you read this, God is renewing you in his love.

 'Making people new' is God's will for every single person he has created. Moreover, as the Queen said, there is no one, absolutely no-one that he cannot reach.

 Prayer - As you in this moment receive God's renewing love, pray for someone that you think is difficult to reach but, in faith, knowing God wants to - and can!
