Thanksgiving
Psalm 100:4 (NLT) —
‘Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.’
I love to journal to start my day and a few months ago I felt the Lord ask me to start my journaling process by listing the things I was grateful for at that moment.
In our daily lives, it is easy to get caught up in the busyness and challenges, often forgetting to give thanks. But when we intentionally cultivate an attitude of gratitude, our perspective shifts. We become aware of the countless blessings surrounding us, both big and small. Even in difficult times, we can find reasons to be grateful, for God is always with us, guiding and sustaining us.
Thankfulness is a powerful antidote to doubt as it reminds us of God’s faithfulness. When we focus on all he has done it builds up confidence in all that he can and will do.
I do understand that it can be very difficult to give thanks in times of darkness but I would like to remind you that our God does not shy away from our disappointment or troubling concerns. In fact, he faces them with us. He does not force us into showing fake joy but invites us to remember all those times he never failed us.
As we meditate on this verse, let us respond to God’s invitation with wholehearted thanksgiving and praise. May our gratitude flow from the depths of our souls, filling our prayers, our thoughts, and our actions. Let us enter his presence with joyful hearts, recognising his goodness and faithfulness. In doing so, we will experience the transformative power of worship, drawing closer to God and finding renewed strength in his presence.
Reflect: Take some time to write down and be thankful about what God has done in your life.
Prayer - Just thank you Lord!
