Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) —

‘For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he planned for us.’

One thing I know for sure is that ‘knowing who we are in Christ empowers us to live our God-destined life. Ephesians 2:10 clearly reminds us that we are God’s masterpiece and that he has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do the good things he has planned for us.

God planned good things for us long before we were born and he wants us to stand firm in the confidence of who we are in him (his MASTERPIECE). Ephesians 1:13 reminds us that we are stamped with the seal of the promised Holy Spirit. Our identity in Christ is secure. Like the blue tick we see on verified accounts on social media: the identity of that account holder is secure.

Now I haven’t had the pleasure of my Instagram account and identity being stolen but I have had the short-lived joy of believing that an A-list celebrity (Serena Williams) had started following me on Instagram, only to realise that this account did not have the seal of the blue tick! (Aaw!) Seeing this celebrity's verified account, made the other account following me meaningless.

I want to tell you today that any accounts of yourself regarding your identity that are not stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit are meaningless. If the enemy has opened an account in your mind that you are hopeless, rejected, a victim, unloved, unworthy, CLOSE IT IMMEDIATELY - Your life is marked by the seal of the Holy Spirit. You are God’s masterpiece and your identity in him is that you are chosen, loved, forgiven, set apart and much more.

Hold on to this: Our identity in Christ is secure. We are his masterpiece. We are whom he says we are.

PRAYER — Thank you, Father God, that my identity in you is secure.

I am all that you say I am.

Give me the strength to close any accounts in my mind that do not align with whom I am in you and the courage to step into all you have purposed for me.
