We Are Loved
Isaiah 54:10 “‘yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord”
God’s message to you today is simple but profound - He loves you.
God’s love for us can be a bit of a mystery to get our heads around. True, unbreakable, never-ending, faithful love can be hard to find in society - which leaves us with a challenge to comprehend the vastness of God’s love for us at times. As a friend used to describe to me, ‘He loves you, because He loves you, because He loves you...’ - it’s as simple and baffling as that!
It’s nothing to do with anything you do – or don’t do. It’s nothing to do with what you do or don’t think. It’s nothing to do with how you do or don’t look. The simple fact is, there is absolutely nothing you can do that will make God love you any less than He does. His love is unfailing, unshakable, covenantal love for you that will never change.
Marriage and friendship have both taught me ways in which we can experience such precious security and acceptance by knowing we are loved. The stability and surety that we find in a loving relationship changes the way we face life - it’s an anchor of joy and peace. Yet the love we experience in relationships such as through family, marriage or friendship is only representative of the smallest fraction of the love that God has for you!
As Christians, God’s love for us can often sit in our head as knowledge, without always finding its way into our hearts as truth. The invitation to you today from the Father is to open yourself to a fresh revelation of his unfailing love for you.
Pray: Father God, I pray that today you would reveal more of your unfathomable love for me today. Help me to open my eyes and heart a little more to just how much you love me.
Respond: Dwell in the truth that He loves you, perhaps meditate on Romans 8:31-39. Consider if there is someone you know that needs to hear from you that God loves them too.
