Acts 15:22-35
Be still: Take 5 minutes to sit in silence and breathe slowly.
Read: Acts 15:22-35
The people read it and were glad for its encouraging message. Judas and Silas, who themselves were prophets, said much to encourage and strengthen the believers. (v31-32)
Encounter: We need encouraging words, whether it’s our love language or not. We want them from those closest to us, from the people we work with and obviously from God! These two verses really hammer home the clearly profound impact that encouragement can have. I wonder how the church was feeling before and after being encouraged?
Apply: Words that strengthen and encourage really are food for the soul and they don’t cost anything. They make us walk taller, remind us who we really are and fill us with courage. We’ll never know the full impact of our encouraging words, and I think that’s part of the fun!
Devote: Jesus, please bring to mind someone you’d like me to encourage today. Someone I should message or am seeing later today? Thank you for the gift that they are to me.
