1 John 1:1- 2:6
Be still: Lord Jesus, I still my heart today. Holy Spirit guide and inspire me today to walk like Jesus. Amen
Read: 1 John 1:1- 2:6
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (v6)
Encounter: Walking like Jesus isn’t just a choice we make once – it’s a lifestyle we’re invited into daily. To abide in Christ means to shape our lives around his: to live as he lived, to love as he loved, and to surrender as he surrendered.
This walk isn’t about perfection – it’s about direction. Each day is another chance to choose his way, even when it’s inconvenient or uncomfortable. Jesus walked in humility. He served with no thought for himself. He drew near to the Father in prayer. He embraced the outcast, challenged the proud, and gave of himself fully – not just on the Cross, but in every moment, every decision.
If we say we belong to him, then we are called to that same rhythm of life. But we don’t do it in our own strength; we submit in order to have his strength in what we do. As we stay near to our faithful God, his Spirit begins to shape our hearts. His love softens how we treat others. His courage rises in us when we feel afraid. His life becomes our pattern.
Today, pause and ask: Am I walking like Jesus? Not just believing in him, but becoming like him?
Apply: Where in your life might Jesus be inviting you to walk more closely with him? Is there an area you need to surrender control, as he did in obedience to the Father? What does Jesus’ way of walking – his humility, dependence, and trust – teach you about your own journey of discipleship?
Devote: Jesus, I want to walk like you and with you. Shape my heart to mirror yours. Teach me to love like you, serve like you, and obey the Father like you did. Help me to remain in you and reflect you in every step I take.
