In The Waiting

Lamentations 3:25 (NLT)
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.

Waiting is one of the hardest things to do, especially in a world where instant results and immediate gratification are expected. In my own season of waiting this year, this verse resonated with me. It reminded me that there is a profound spiritual value in waiting on the Lord. It is an act of faith, filled with trust and expectation.

During this process, I slowly continue to learn about his goodness, faithfulness and his perfect timing. In our seasons of waiting, we must remember that 'he is good to those who wait.' We know it may be long, challenging and uncertain but in the end, it is always worth it. God is refining our character, deepening our trust in him, and drawing us closer.

As much as I would love to have all my prayer requests answered with no waiting, I understand that during this waiting period I should not be idle or passive, but intentionally pursue his wisdom and direction. As I seek him more, I will find strength and joy in my journey. I will trust in his timing.

Finally, God’s goodness is not dependent on how quickly he answers prayers, but on his unchanging character. We have a good, faithful, loving, ever-present God - let us never forget that.

Prayer: ‘Almighty God, help me to wait on you with patience and trust, knowing that your timing is always perfect. Strengthen my faith as I wait, and fill me with peace, knowing that you are at work, even when I cannot see it. In Jesus' name.
