Hebrews 10:19-25

Be Still: Lord, quiet my thoughts and my actions. Let my eyes be fixed on you in this time. Come Holy Spirit. Amen

Read: Hebrews 10:19-25

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (vv23-25)

Encounter: This feels a lot like a loving nudge from someone who knows life gets heavy. ‘Hold fast to the hope you profess’ isn’t a command to try harder – it’s a reminder of why we can hold on at all. God is faithful. Even when we’re tired, distracted, or full of questions, He isn’t. Our hope doesn’t depend on our consistency; it depends on his.

Then the passage gets practical. It says to think about one another – really notice each other – and to help stir up love and action. Faith isn’t meant to be a solo journey. We need people who remind us of what’s true when we forget, who cheer us on when motivation is low, and who gently push us back toward God when we’re tempted to pull away.

Apply: Who could you encourage today? Take this time to pray for 3 people in your life:

  1. Someone you know who is part of your location or community group

  2. Someone you are close to who doesn’t yet know Jesus

  3. Someone who may be wrestling with the bigger questions of faith and is pulling away from following Jesus

Be bold and reach out to those people to let them know that you’re praying for them and to share what you feel the Holy Spirit may be revealing - keep it encouraging.

Devote: Thank you Lord that you gifted us the Church so that we can keep each other living in faith together. Help me to be an encourager to others today; to reveal more of your love for them.
