Promises

Luke 1:37 (NIV)—

‘For no word from God will ever fail.’

Today we’re reminded that when God speaks into our lives, he introduces us to the impossible!

I wonder how many of us worry about God being able to accomplish something. We can start to question, ‘Will God show up?’, ‘Can he do this?’.

If we continue reading Luke 1, we see the Angel Gabriel telling Mary that she would conceive a son. How could a virgin become pregnant? To Mary this sounded impossible. But this interaction revealed a truth about God that we all need to remember. ‘For no word from God will ever fail’.

There are moments in our lives where we are faced with a seemingly impossible situation, and we can only move forward in faith, depending on God’s provision and power.

If God is leading you, he will provide for you. As soon as you have received a clear word from him, you have his permission to act, So if God has spoken promises over you, over your family, over your job, then you need to move in that direction. For example, If God has spoken promises over your dream, your future, start making small steps towards it, checking back with him after every step. That way you won't take a wrong turn!

The promises of God are the power of God. That power can change our circumstances, but it goes much deeper than that. God is more interested in developing our faith, our character, and above all our day-by-day relationship with Jesus so that, when his promises and plans for us are fulfilled, we can handle the new opportunities and sustain them for his glory and our joy.

We never have to fear moving forward in faith.
