A God That Loves Us
Psalm 63:3 (The MSG)
In your generous LOVE I am really living at last! My lips brim praises like fountains.
What a beautiful declaration we read in this verse about the effect of God’s love. These past few months I have been reflecting a lot about different aspects of God’s character. One aspect that I have been thinking about is his love for us. I know we all know that God loves us, but have you ever taken the time to really think about it? What does God’s love for us mean and how does it affect us? I wanted to dig more into this and understand why God’s love for us is so important.
There is a song by Kari Jobe that I haven’t stopped playing for weeks now and the lyrics say:
You love me, This I know,
I have never known a love so holy
I have never known a heart so kind
I just want to bring you worship
I just want to yield my life- (Love So Holy)
You see God’s love for us is a love that causes us to draw closer to him. These past few months, I have felt myself assured, safe and have developed a quiet confidence in him. His love for us causes for us to carry ourselves differently. I don’t know how you may be feeling today as you read this, but I just want to encourage you that God’s love for you is so good. His love is holy, faithful and everlasting. He really does have the perfect plan for your life, and He desires for you to be really living in all that He has for you.
Kari Jobe finishes the song by singing:
So, know it well
Remind your soul
Remind your spirit
Remind your heart
And that is my prayer for you today that you would be reminded again of his love for you and, as you remember, may your lips brim praises like fountains for him.
Prayer — Lord I thank you today for your generous love towards me. I thank you that your love is holy, faithful and unfailing. Help me to grow deeper in the knowledge of your love towards me. Draw me closer to you Jesus.
